Founder, Executive Director
Pam is a long-time advocate for the local cancer community. With over 10 years service as a Local Leader for Livestrong Foundation and volunteering on the Board of Directors for Ride for a Reason. Pam gained the experience necessary to start Triumph Cancer Foundation and solidify Triumph Fitness’ presence in the Sacramento Metro Region.
Pam is an Architect and co-owns Sage Architecture, Inc. with her husband Paul Almond. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Design from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Minnesota.
Alicia is the Manager of Health and Wellness at Western Health Advantage, facilitating health & wellness programs and events. She also serves as a spokesperson for WHA. Previously, she was a Health Educator for Hill Physician’s Group. Alicia enjoys being a Fitness Trainer and Nutritional consultant.
She holds a BA in Nutrition from Sac State University and an MA in Health Psychology from North Central University.
Michael is a financial advisor for Northwestern Mutual. He brings to our Board his experience of serving for many years on the St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School Finance Committee.
He is an avid runner and triathlete who feels strongly that exercise is an important component of a healthy lifestyle.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of California Berkeley.
Skip is a physician, a former health plan medical director, and a businessman, with a broad-based perspective on the health care system and expertise in the issues of quality and medical necessity of care. His experience encompasses a seven-year practice in occupational medicine and emergency medicine, founding a managed care company, and management and consulting work with a wide range of businesses. Skip has served on many Boards in the Sacramento area, supporting the arts, theater and other health-related organizations.
Paula is a cancer survivor and graduate of Triumph Fitness. Her first interaction with Triumph Cancer Foundation involved sponsoring the inaugural Triumph Uncorked event, which sparked the inspiration to take on a larger role.
Paula is currently retired and serves as the Triumph Fitness participant coordinator and mentor. Formerly, she was the Client Services Manager for All Stat Courier Services, Inc.
She attended Sacramento City College and Sacramento State University.
Steve has been the publisher of Sactown Magazine since its inception in 2006. Prior to Sactown, Steve was the president of the largest regional magazine in America, Texas Monthly, which routinely competes with magazines like Vanity Fair and The New Yorker for National Magazine Awards. While he spent most of his career in publishing, Childs is also an entrepreneur with 25 years experience in executive roles in publishing, finance, advertising, consumer marketing, business development, and management. He was also the Founding Director of Communities at Excite, one if the first major Internet search portals. Steve has served on multiple Boards in the community.
Jamie is a certified public accountant who owns and runs her own accounting firm in Davis, California. She is a State Council member of the California Society of CPA’s and is an active member of the Sacramento Chapter. She is triathlete and believes in the importance of exercise for quality of life.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
Alan is the Director of Development for Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Northern California. Being a member of our Board is a personal commitment for Alan after witnessing the value of exercise for a friend diagnosed with cancer. He brings to our Board his many years of experience in strategic planning and fund development.
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics Management from Beloit College.
Advisory Board Member
Rob brings his valuable knowledge of the healthcare arena to the Foundation, as well as his experience of having served on other nonprofit Boards. He is the Chief Operations Officer at Medica. He was the former Senior Vice President of Customer Quality for Blue Shield of California with over 20 years of experience in the field. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Davis, and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
Advisory Board Member
Kelly is the Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Eyefinity, a division of VSP. She has more than 20 years of marketing experience in brand development, marketing strategy, corporate communications, public relations, web design and sales. Her experience in the health care industry includes roles with Radiological Associates of Sacramento (RAS), the California Dental Association and Woodland Healthcare. She received her BA in Communications and Marketing from California State University, Chico. Kelly is also a long-time breast cancer survivor who has been active in the cancer community for many years.
