Triumph takes it to the next level by training Survivors to hike to a Summit every year.
We are happy to report that Triumph is now once again providing Triumph Fitness in an in-person format as well as continuing to offer a virtual format for those more comfortable participating from home. Our in-person classes take place at several designated community centers and fitness facility partners, utilizing their Group Ex spaces with our class exercising together in one space. We provide each incoming participant with a Triumph-on-the-Go exercise kit so that everyone has the basic equipment needed to exercise effectively while being guided by our Triumph team of certified cancer exercise specialists.
Breast cancer survivors who exercise moderately (3 to 5 hours per week) after diagnosis, reduce risk of recurrence by 40% to 50% compared with more sedentary women.
Prostate cancer survivors who engaged in vigorous activity for at least 3 hours per week had a 61% lower risk of death compared with men who engaged in less than 1 hour per week.
Clinical research indicates that physical activity has beneficial effects on overall quality of life for survivors, including body image/self-esteem, emotional well-being, anxiety, fatigue and pain.
